Choose a type letter (G, H, P1, Q1, S1 …) from the chart on this page, or send us the part number and we will confirm the match. Buyers usually provide the type from their existing hub. Pick yours below — or send it to us and we will confirm the match before you order. Type not listed? Send us the part number, and we will check availability. The split taper bushing is a two-piece mounting device that locks a sprocket, sheave, or pulley onto a shaft. The flange is split through, so tightening the cap screws compresses the bushing onto the shaft and grips it firmly and concentrically — and the same split lets it release just as easily, without a puller, a press, or heat. Because the split runs through the flange, the bushing can be installed from either side of the hub. That makes it a practical choice for both new builds and field replacements, where the goal is to get the drive running again without taking the machine apart. Popular split taper bushing sizes are kept in stock, so replacement orders do not have to wait for a production run. Stock items have no minimum order — one piece is fine. Need a size that is not on the shelf? We make it to your drawing, sample, or shaft dimensions.Split Taper Bushing — Stock & Custom, Made to US Standard

Custom Split Taper Bushing
Send us a drawing, a sample, or the shaft dimensions and we will quote a bushing that fits your application. Common custom work includes:
- Bores in inch or metric
- Keyways to your specification
- Cast iron and steel, other materials on request
- Bushings for hubs already in service
Not sure which type you need? Send your dimensions and our engineers will name the closest standard item, or quote a custom one.
Interchangeable with Common Split Taper Hubs
CTS split taper bushings are made to the same dimensional standard as the bushings used with Browning, Dodge, Martin and TB Wood’s split taper hubs, so a CTS bushing drops into an existing hub without modification. If you are replacing a bushing on a machine already in service, send us the part number and we will match it.
Replacing an existing part?
Send the part number stamped on the old bushing or hub and we will confirm the match before you order.
Where Split Taper Bushings Are Used
Typical applications for the drives our bushings mount.
Chain sprockets
The most common use — mounting sprockets on reducer and drive shafts.
V-belt sheaves & pulleys
Bushed sheaves for belt drives, where a split bushing keeps the sheave concentric and easy to change.
Conveyors & elevators
Drives on belt conveyors, screw conveyors and bucket elevators.
Agricultural machinery
Field equipment where a worn part has to be replaced quickly.
Fans, blowers & mixers
Fan and agitator shafts where the impeller is mounted on a taper bushing.
Packaging & food lines
Frequent cleaning and changeovers make split bushings easier to service.
Quality & Inspection
Every batch is checked for bore, keyway and taper fit before packing, and material certificates can be supplied on request. Bushings are export packed with rust protection for sea and air freight.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a split taper bushing and a QD bushing?
A split taper bushing is split through the flange and tightens onto the shaft as the cap screws are drawn up. A QD bushing uses a quick-disconnect design with keyways and removal holes, so it comes off the hub faster when parts are changed often. Both mount a sprocket, sheave or pulley on a shaft — the choice depends on load, space and how often the part is changed.
Can I replace my Browning, Dodge or Martin bushing with a CTS bushing?
In most cases yes. Send us the part number stamped on the bushing or the hub and we will confirm the matching CTS size before you order.
Do you keep split taper bushings in stock?
Yes. Popular types and bores are held in stock with no minimum order. Tell us the type and bore and we will confirm availability.
Can you make a custom bore or keyway?
Yes — custom bores, keyways and materials are our normal work. Send a drawing, or tell us the shaft size and keyway.
How do I get a price?
Send us your list — type, bore and quantity — through the inquiry form on this page, and we will come back with pricing and availability.
