What is an L jaw coupling?

What is a jaw coupling used for?

What is the difference between jaw coupling and Oldham coupling?
Jaw couplings excel in shock absorption capabilities.
Similar to the Oldham coupling, the press fit between the jaws and the spider in a jaw coupling maintains zero backlash. However, unlike the Oldham coupling, where the torque disk is in shear under torsional loads, the spider of the jaw coupling operates in compression.
