About S55 Agricultural Chain
S55 belongs to the DIN 8189 S-type steel agricultural chains. S-type agricultural chains: solid rollers, pre-stretched assembly, heat-treated parts, and dimensions that interchange with other brands' S-type agricultural chains. These chains run on standard S-type sprockets and are built for feeding, conveying, and elevating duties where dust, shock loads, moisture, and long shifts are normal. Inside the S series, S55 stands out for its larger roller, which gives a bigger contact face, so the chain wears more slowly in abrasive or heavy pulling work.

S55 shares its pitch and inner width with the S45 roller chain, so the two look almost identical on the machine. The difference is the roller: S55 uses the larger roller, which is what you pay for when the duty is abrasive or heavily loaded. S52 runs a similar roller on a shorter pitch, while S62 and S77 step up to heavier plates and pins. Material and Heat Treatment For S55 Roller Chain
Chain plates are punched from 45Mn (SAE 1541 equivalent grade) high-carbon steel and heat-treated; pins and bushings are case-hardened to resist wear. Rollers are solid and shot peened, and plating or black-oxide finishes are available, together with factory lubrication chosen for the duty.
