WD110 Chain - Welded Steel Drag Chain 6" Pitch
WD110 Welded Steel Drag Chain Overview
What it is, how it works, and where it is used.
The WD110 welded steel drag chain is a rollerless engineering chain designed to convey bulk materials – sawdust, wood chips, bark, ash, ore, grain and scrap – through trough conveyors and scraper systems. Unlike roller chain, it has no rollers: the sleeves welded to the offset link plates do the work.
Each link is an all-welded assembly of side plates, pins and bushes. The outer circular surface of each sleeve engages the sprocket teeth, while its flat, non-circular sides face the running direction to push or scrape material. This dual function gives drag chains their characteristic combination of drive efficiency and material-moving ability.
The WD110 is the medium-duty workhorse of the WD series (WD102–WD480), balancing a 152.4 mm pitch with a wide 228.6 mm material face and a robust 170 kN minimum tensile strength. It is a standard, interchangeable chain number used across the industry and available ex-stock.
Typical WD110 applications include wood processing plants, pulp and paper mills, mines, grain terminals, cement and asphalt plants, and municipal waste handling.
