Why Standard Sprockets Can’t Handle Wastewater
Water treatment plants operate 24/7 in one of the most punishing environments. Standard industrial sprockets fail prematurely when exposed to the realities of treatment plant service.
Continuous Corrosive Exposure
Submerged in effluent, chemically dosed water, and corrosive sludge, carbon steel sprockets rust rapidly; stainless steel is a requirement for acceptable service life.
Fibrous & Abrasive Debris
Rags, sand, grit wrap around hubs and teeth, accelerating wear. Custom sprockets' teeth are necessary to shed debris rather than accumulate it.
Minimal Maintenance Windows
The sprocket replacement that requires shaft disassembly can mean 8-12 hours downtime. Rapid replce designs are essential, saving time.
Non-Standard Drive Systems
Equipment usually uses engineered-class chains which are non-standard one. Custom sprockets can match with it.
