Conventional one-piece conveyor chain sprockets in wastewater screening face a fundamental problem: when the teeth wear down — and they will — the entire sprocket must be replaced. In a channel with limited access, this means hours of downtime. CTS's multi-plate sprockets approach changes the situation.
Solution
The Multi-Plate Assembled Conveyor Chain Sprocket is a fabricated design consisting of three independent flat-plate tooth sections (chain wheel plates) mounted on a central hub and secured with eight through-bolts with lock nuts. Each plate carries a portion of the total tooth count and can be individually removed and replaced without disturbing the hub or shaft.

Sprocket Plates
Three flat-section sprocket plates, each carrying a portion of the total tooth count. Individual replacement means only the worn plate is swapped — not the entire assembly. Machined from certified AISI 304/316 stainless steel.

Central Hub
The hub serves as the mounting base and carries the shaft bore and keyway. It remains fixed on the shaft during plate replacement — no shaft removal, no bearing disturbance. Designed to your exact shaft diameter and keyway standard.

Through-Bolts with Lock Nuts
Eight M16 A4-80 stainless steel bolts pass through the tooth plates and hub, secured with DIN 985 nylon-insert lock nuts and DIN 125A washers. The nylon insert prevents loosening under vibration — critical for continuously operating screen drives.

M114 Protective Plug
Seals the hub's central bore against debris ingress when installed on a hollow or threaded shaft end. Prevents fibrous material, grit, and water from entering the shaft-hub interface — extending service life in submerged or semi-submerged operation.

Component Fit-Up Check
All three machined tooth plates, hub, and eight through-bolts are dry-fit to verify bolt-hole registration, plate alignment, and fastener compatibility before final assembly.
Torqued Assembly & Run-Out Check
Complete assembly with all eight bolts torqued to specification. Concentricity across all three plates, tooth spacing, and axial run-out measured and recorded before release.
Blank Pre-Machining Inspection
Each flat plate blank is inspected for material integrity, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality before CNC machining. This gate ensures only sound material proceeds to tooth cutting and finishing operations.
